Provincials
The 2010 Lamontagne Skate Canada Newfoundland and Labrador Provincials was held February 12-14, 2010 in Gander. The club had a very successful event, with 15 medals. Notably Ashley Morgan, Maggie Walsh, Dylan Short, Kayla Kennedy and Sandy Walsh won Provincial Championships. Photos now on-line below.
In Friday results, Erin Maher placed 4th, and Hannah Budgell 8th in preliminary 10 years; and Sandy Walsh won a gold medal in Junior Bronze.
On Saturday Nicole Burt won silver, and Kayla Kennedy bronze in Gold Skills. Kayla went on to win gold in Gold Interpretive, and Olivia Drover-Martin won silver in Silver Interpretive. Gillian Bowering finished 13th in Junior Bronze, Julia Planke 12th in Senior Bronze, and Lauren Stringer 5th in PreJuvenile. Ashley Morgan won gold in Prenovice short, with Nicole Chan 5th, Julia Howley 11th, Briauna Miller 13th and Olivia Drover-Martin 14th. Dylan Short finished 2nd in prenovice mens short, and Julia Mercer 2nd in Novice short, with Nicole Burt 4th. On Sunday, Kaitlin Harte won silver in Juvenile, as did Kayla Kennedy in Senior silver, Ashley Morgan in Prenovice free and Julia Mercer in Novice free. Maggie Walsh won gold in Junior silver and Dylan Short gold in pre-novice free, with Philip McDermott 3rd.
