Synergy seeking new team members

Synergy, our Intermediate synchro team is seeking new team members. Skaters must
- have passed one or all tests in dance, skills or freeskate at the Senior Bronze level
- be available to attend two – one hour on-ice sessions per week
- be available to attend two – one hour off-ice sessions per week
- be available to attend the On-Ice Seminar weekend of Sept 10, 2010

Anyone interested should plan to attend the practice session on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 from 8:00 – 9:00 pm at Twin Rinks Arena in St. John’s. New skaters will be selected by the coach. For more information contact Shirley Thistle or Lisa McCaw.

Synergy fundraiser

The club’s intermediate synchro team held a successful fund-raiser Friday June 25 at the Rob Roy on George Street. They are looking ahead to another great season!

Synergy compete at Nationals

Synergy

Synergy, Prince of Wales Skating Club’s intermediate synchro team competed at the 2010 BMO Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships. They are the first team from Newfoundland and Labrador to skate at nationals since 2003, and we believe the first team from Prince of Wales.  They scored 39.19 in their first skate, and in their second skate they improved to score 45.28, for a total of 64.88.

Bangle winner

photoThe winner of the draw for the gold bangle was Mr. Jim Batten (ticket # 1369). All proceeds go towards Synergy’s fund-raising towards their trip to nationals.

Atlantic Regional Synchro

January 31st, 2010

The club’s Intermediate synchro team Synergy competed in the Atlantic Regional Synchro Championships in Riverview New Brunswick.  As single entrants they automatically qualify for Canadian Nationals by taking part but had an excellent skate scoring 46.12 in their first skate, and 44.45 in the second.

Synergy are operating the canteen at Feildian Gardens on Saturdays, and selling tickets on a gold bangle to raise funds for their travel. Synergy thank Avalon Ford, Canadian Tire (Kelsey Drive) and the Avalon Region for their support.

Family and Fun Skate

There was an excellent turn-out at the club’s annual family and fun skate at Jack Byrne arena. following the family skate, 27 skaters  showed off their competitive programmes, nd Synergy premiered their programme for the year.
