Atlantic Provincials: Wendy Chapman wins Juvenile ladies, Brian Macleod 2nd in Juvenile men. Club operates Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Club President William Green quoted in the paper “Our rate of growth is fantastic. We’re progressing to the stage where we have to add an intermediate section next season”. Wendy competes at Canada Winter Games in Quebec City.
1969
Wendy Chapman wins Atlantic Provincial Junior title, Brian Macleod 1st, Andy Joy 2nd in novice men. Wendy travels to Toronto to compete at Nationals, finishes 16th out of 21.
1970
Club co-hosts first ever Newfoundland Sectionals. Joseph Chapman presents Trophy for the best club at sectionals – “The Club Trophy has been donated by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Chapman of St. John’s. Mr. Chapman was the Charter President of the Newfoundland Figure Skating Association and was largely responsible for the Province of Newfoundland becoming a recognized Section of the CFSA, thereby making the status of these First Newfoundland Sectional Championships sanctioned by the CFSA a reality”. The trophy was won by Prince of Wales.
Chris Chapman becomes the first Newfoundland member of PSCAC. Ralph Adomeit (Austrian born, moved to Canada aged 12) coaches with the club. Gold medals in Newfoundland Sectionals:- Wendy Chapman Senior open and Balisch Cup. Janet McKinlay Junior ladies open Ellen Sametz Juvenile ladies, Debra Pearcy Preliminary.
1971
Wendy Chapman competes at Canada Winter Games in Saskatoon. A collapse during re-building of Prince of Wales Arena results in the club losing assets of $2000, covered by insurance (the arena burnt to the ground the previous year). Club wins Chapman Trophy.
1972-73
Nine clubs have entries into Sectionals, Prince of Wales defending Chapman Trophy champions. Prince of Wales entries include Shirley Thistle, Michelle MacKinlay, Sharron Clowe, Leslie Farr, Susan Green, Karen MacKinlay, Sandra Hookey, Barbara Chapman and Christine Withers.
1973-74
Christine Withers wins most congenial trophy at sectionals. Club has 436 members including 150 powerskaters and 30 in the test programme, 22 hours ice, cost $25/hour.
1974-75

The Club becomes involved in Divisionals – Canada Games controversy. The Section executive decides to send only 7 of eleven skaters qualified to attend Divisionals and the Canada Games. Based apparently on judges recommendation, only the top finisher in ladies novice was selected, when the top four were eligible. Coincidentally 2nd, 3rd and 4th places were held by Prince of Wales skaters (Leslie Farr, Barbara Chapman and Michelle Mackinlay). Joseph Chapman and club president Alex Balisch blast the section in the media for the decision. Much public and acrimonious discussion results in the papers; letters of reprimand are sent by the Section, and other clubs ask for the removal of Alex Balisch as Canada games coach. Alex Balisch quoted as saying “An interesting aspect of the sport has been ignored. It is not to win but to take part. It is not to conquer, it is to struggle”.
1975-76
The Club hosts Skate Atlantica, an Atlantic Invitational competition developed by Alex Balisch. 100 skaters take part, including from the club Kerry St. Clair Golding, Janis Adey, Louise Sutherland, Susanna Henseleit, Karen Noftall and Barbara Chapman.

Annual Christmas family skate and fun competition starts Meghan Fleming represents Newfoundland at the Canada Games in Corner Brook in 1999, competing in the pre-novice category.
The Club sends 4 skaters to Divsionals in Corner Brook: Adrienne Mercer (Junior), Cyra Belbin (Novice), Meghan Fleming (pre-novice), and Mark Spurrell (novice men).
Adrienne Mercer becomes the first skater from Newfoundland to pass all Tests up to triple-gold level without a single failure.
1999-2000
Virginia Toombs, former Club member, with her pairs partner James Johnson, wins the Novice pairs competition at Canadians and go on to compete at Junior Worlds.
Trophy for “most improved Club” at regionals.
Megan Fleming wins Pre-Novice at sectionals, and competes at Divisionals.

Adult and juvenile synchro teams wins gold, juvenile team wins Butt Trophy for Most Spirited Team. Best Club” honours at Inter-Club – 17 medallists out of 28 entries. Two former club members skated at the national championships. Lelia Hutton in Junior Dance, and Virginia Toombs in Junior pairs.

Club forced to move offices from Prince of Wales arena to Twin Rinks. Sara Squires silver pre-novice at Sectionals, competes at Eastern Challenge, Kerrilyn Evans bronze juvenile. Club wins trophy for best club at regionals. Sends 7 skaters to Newfoundland Winter Games, 14 skaters to Provincials. Three club teams win medals at Provincial Synchro championships. Club wins best club award at Avalon Interclub. Shirley Thistle was named “Section coach of the year”, and Marion Jeans was named “Section volunteer of the year”. Nicole Mallay named club Bank of Montreal CanSkater of the year. Jennifer Osmond passed her gold skills Test.
2002-03
Sara Squires wins bronze in novice at Sectionals, she and Kerrilynn Evans compete at Eastern challenge. Yvonne Chan and Nicole Burt win silver and bronze, pre-juvenile at sectionals. Club named to the Skate Canada Club Honour Roll for its achievement in the pursuit of excellence in skating program delivery and customer service. Tanith Belbin and her partner Benjamin Agosto finish 2nd in senior dance at the US National Championships. Tanith is the daughter of Michele Mackinlay, who skated at a competitive level for Prince of Wales SC in the 1970s!
Club wins trophy for best club at regionals with 8 gold medalists. The Club’s three synchro teams had an excellent Provincial Championships – Pre Juvenile team wins gold medal; Novice and Adult teams silver. At the Eastern Festival of Synchronised Skating the Princettes pre-juvenile won their category, InSync won a silver medal and the Princelles won a bronze medal in Novice. Club wins best club award at Avalon Interclub. Maggie Walsh, Ashley Morgan, Nicole Chan and Valerie Ball win gold medals at Junior Provincials. Club skaters win 9 medals at Provincials. BMO Financal Group Club CanSkater of the year award went to Julia Kennedy. Club presented to Skate Newfoundland and Labrador a trophy for Junior Provincials – The “Agnes Thistle Shield” Dave Liverman, past-president of Prince of Wales won the Section Volunteer award and Wendy Mercer was nominated by the Section as a candidate for Skate Canada recreation coach of the year. Rhian Walther formerly a member of the Prince of Wales Skating Club was honoured by Skate Canada Eastern Ontario as the recipient of the Section Officials Award for the 2002-2003 Season.
2003-04
Sectionals: David Craggs won a silver medal in pre-juvenile men. In juvenile Stephanie Fagan won bronze. Kerrilyn Evans finished fourth in pre-novice, Sara Squires 3rd in ladies novice, and Corey Sutherland won a silver medal in men’s novice. Sara, Corey, and Kerrilyn took part in the Eastern Challenge event in December where Corey Sutherland qualified for Junior Nationals with an 8th place finish in novice men. Allie McCurdy and her partner Michael Coreno finished 7th in Junior dance at the Canadian Championships. Now competing for Eastern Ontario, Allie learned to skate in the Canskate program. The Club won the Browning-Harvey trophy for Best Club at Avalon regionals for the fourth consecutive year.
Corey Sutherland finished 10th at Junior Nationals in novice men. Juvenile team won bronze and masters team gold at Provincial Synchro. Club wins best club award and most improved club at Avalon Interclub. 16 club skaters took part in the Provincial Championships earning 10 medals. Jenna Hillyard, Anna Stylianides, Samantha Phelan and Sara Squires won gold medals, and Sara also won the Withers award for most outstanding performance. Four club skaters attended Junior Provincials and all won medals. BMO Financial Group CanSkater of the Year was Julia Howley. Club membership reaches all time high of 744. At Skate Canada Newfoundland and Labrador awards banquet Andrea Thistle was named Skate Canada Program Assistant of the year, Ruth Noel received the Elizabeth Swan Memorial Award for service to synchronized skating and Karen Hillyard received the top volunteer award – the Skate Canada Volunteer Award of Excellence.
2004-05
Sectionals: The club won both pre-juvenile and juvenile ladies events through Julia Mercer and Stephanie Fagan. Stephanie qualified to compete at Junior Nationals. In addition Yvonne Chan won silver in pre-novice, and Maggie Walsh a silver medal in preliminary. Kerrilyn Evans finished 4th in novice, qualifying for Eastern Challenge. Ryan Sutherland and Alisha Coolin represent club at Canadians in Junior pairs. Club wins 10 medals at Regionals but surrenders best club trophy to Mount Pearl. Stephanie Fagan finishes 6th in juvenile at Junior Canadians. Former club president Brian Jonasson killed in car crash in Texas. Club hosts Provincial Synchro competition, with teams winning two gold and one silver medal. Junior team finishes 13th at Eastern Festival of Synchro. Agnes Thistle awarded the Skate Canada volunteer award of excellence. Beth Liverman wins Provincial STARSkater of the year award. Provincial Championships in Goose Bay: Erinn Power won gold in Junior Bronze B, Andrea Thistle gold in Junior Silver A, Jenna Hillyard bronze in Senior Bronze B, Clara Pollard bronze in Senior Bronze A, and Nicole Burt bronze in Juvenile ladies. Club membership increases again to over 850.
2005-06
Sectionals: The club won both pre-juvenile and pre-novice ladies events through Nicole Chan and Stephanie Fagan. In addition Anna Stylianides won a silver in pre-juvenile, and Julia Mercer bronze in juvenile. Yvonne Chan finished 4th in pre-novice, qualifying for Eastern Challenge. Stephanie Fagan was also awarded Polaris Cup (most artistic skater). Club starts female CanPower sessions. Ryan Sutherland and Alisha Coolin represent club at Canadians in Junior pairs. Former Prince of Wales skater Allie Hann-McCurdy becomes 2006 Canadian Junior dance champion with her partner Michael Coreno. Stephanie Fagan and Yvonne Chan competed in the Eastern Challenge in PreNovice ladies. Yvonne finished in 17th place, and Stephanie 28th. 14 club skaters medal at Regionals. InSync (Masters), Princelles (novice) and Synergy (Junior) all win gold at Provincial Synchro, the Popsicles CanSkate team win silver. Synergy finished 9th at the Eastern Festival of Synchonized Skating in PEI. Tanith Belbin and her partner Ben Agosto winn an Olympic silver medal in ice dance. Tanith is the daughter of Michelle McKinlay, who was a competitive skater with the club in the 1970s. Julia Mercer and Stephanie Fagan win gold medals at Winter Games- Erinn Power, Jenna Hillyard, and Nicole Burt also medalled.
2006-07
Julia Mercer won the first Rebecca Pack Memorial award at the fall invitational event. At Sectionals the club won 5 medals in preliminary events, with Anna Stylianides finishing 2nd in juvenile, and Julia Mercer 3rd in pre-novice. Julia Mercer and Yvonne Chan competed at Eastern Challenge, where Julia qualified for the Canada Games team. Beth Liverman (dance) and Jenna Hillyard (freeskate) passed gold tests. the club won most points trophies at Regionals (17 skaters medalled), Provincials (20 medals) and Interclub (15 medals) – perhaps the first time it has held all three awards. In addition the club was awarded the most improved trophy at interclub. Julia Mercer skated at the Canada Games, and won awards for most artistic skater at regionals, and most outstanding performance at provincials. Our synchro teams had a very successful competition at the Eastern Festival of Synchronized Skating. The Princelles novice team won gold in Provincials and a bronze in Eastern festival; InSync captured their fourth consecutive provincial title in Masters, also earning gold in Eastern Festival; Synergy won a provincial silver medal; The Princettes (prejuvenile) earned two bronze medals!
2007-08
John Hall, former club executive member and pioneering adult competitive skater passed away in October. 16 skaters competed in Sectionals winning 8 medals. Julia Mercer, Stephanie Fagan, Yvonne Chan and Nicole Burt competed at Eastern Challenge. Following Sectionals 15 of our skaters were named to Provincial teams. The club’s Junior Synchronized skating team, Synergy competed at Winterfest in Ontario and finished in 10th place out of 18 teams. Former Prince of Wales SC member Allie McCurdy along with her partner Michael Coreno (representing BC/YT), won a bronze medal in senior dance at Canadians. The club sent 28 entries to Avalon Regionals and returned with 16 medals. Four synchro teams travelled to Grand Falls take part in the Provincial Championships and all returned with medals. The Princettes won gold in pre-juvenile, the Princelles silver in Novice, Synergy gold in Junior (setting a provincial record) and InSync won silver in the Masters category. The club passed 1000 members for the first time, and was presented with the Skate Canada President’s CanSkate Challenge award for the greatest increase in CanSkate numbers in the province this year. At the Provincial Championships the club won the Chapman Trophy (most points) for the third year in succession. At Avalon Region Interclub the club retained the most points trophy. Roland Eddy passed his Dutch Waltz test at the end of our Winter Adult session at the age of 69. At the Skate Canada Newfoundland & Labrador AGM, Susan Thistle was presented with the Section Volunteer award, and Chris Pitcher received the Volunteer coach award.
2008-09
Julia Mercer, Yvonne Chan and Synergy were featured at Skate Canada Newfoundland & Labrador’s “Evening of Champions” show, September 20 at Mile One; in addition our provincial team members took part. It was a real thrill for all to share the ice with the likes of Kurt Browning, Jeff Buttle, and Jamie Sale and David Pelletier. Club member Corey Sutherland, was promoted to Canadian Singles Technical Specialist. Ashley Morgan was presented with the Rebecca Pack Memorial award at the Rebecca Pack Memorial Skate. 14 club skaters entered Sectionals. The Bank of Montreal Sectional Merit Award for the most outstanding performance went to Julia Mercer and the Polaris Artistic Cup was awarded to Stephanie Fagan. Stephanie Fagan, Yvonne Chan, Carly Austin, Julia Mercer & Ashley Morgan qualified for Eastern Challenge – the largest number of club skaters to attend the challenge since it was instituted. Following Sectionals 13 skaters were named to Provincial teams.
Maggie Walsh won the MiniBalisch Cup at regionals. Synergy Junior Synchro team competes in Eastern Festival of Synchro, finishing 8th. Synergy win Cornel Trophy as best team at Synchro provincials; Synergy and Princelles win gold, Princettes win bronze and InSync silver. Olivia Drover-Martin was named most artistic skater at Skate Mount Pearl The club hosted the World’s Finest Provincial Championship at the NE Avalon arena and won the most points trophy for the fourth year in a row. Stephanie Fagan won the Withers Most Outstanding performance award, Nicole Burt won the Balish Cup (most artistic), and Olivia Drover-Martin qualified for STARSkate nationals by winning bronze triathlon. Olivia went on to win a silver medal at the National STARSkate championships. two new awards were presented at the ice show. The first recipient of the John Hall Memorial Award for club volunteer work was Donna Burt and we were honoured to have John’s parents and sisters there to present the award. Our other new award, the Olivia Burke memorial CanPowerSkater of the year, was presented to Dawson Langdon by Olivia’s parents. three club members were honoured by the Section as Skate Canada Newfoundland and Labrador award winners; Olvia Drover-Martin – Skate Canada STARSkate Athlete Award; Allie Winter -Skate Canada Program Assistant Award and Christine Morgan- Section Volunteer award.
2009-10
At Sectionals, the Bank of Montreal Sectional Merit Award for the most outstanding performance went to Julia Mercer and the Polaris Artistic Cup was awarded to Ashley Morgan. Ashley Morgan, Stephanie Fagan, Julia Mercer & Nicole Burt qualified for Eastern Challenge. At Challenge Ashley Morgan (PreNovice) placed 25th out of 53 skaters with a score of 67.02. In Novice women, Julia Mercer finished 25th with a score of 77.27, Stephanie Fagan 43rd (65.46) & Nicole Burt 50th (60.40). Club members Corey and Ryan Sutherland; and Karen Hillyard officiated at the event. The club hosted a very successful Avalon Regionals competition; Ruth Noel was presented with the Sis Reid award for volunteer efforts.Former club member Allie Hann-McCurdy and her partner Michael Coreno won a silver medal at the Four Continents Championships in Korea. Allie was a Canskater with the club before moving to BC.
The club had a very successful provincials, with 15 medals. Notably Ashley Morgan, Maggie Walsh, Dylan Short, Kayla Kennedy and Sandy Walsh won Provincial Championships. At Synchro provincials all six club teams medalled; five of those teams won gold – Synergy (Intermediate), Princelles (Novice), Princettes (Juvenile), Pop Stars (Elementary), and Popsicles (Beginner). Insync (Adult) won silver.
Synergy, the club’s intermediate synchro team won the Atlantic Championships and competed at Nationals in Toronto.
At the Junior Provincial Championships the club won the Thistle Shield for club with most points, along with twelve medals. The Thistle Shield was presented to the section by the club seven years ago to honour the achievements of Agnes Thistle, long time club member, and this is the first time the club has won the award.
At the Newfoundland & Labrador Winter games Maggie Walsh won gold in Junior Silver, Kayla Kennedy placed 2nd in Open Women, Nicole Chan won a bronze medal in PreNovice, Dylan Short won bronze in Open Men, and Gillian Bowering finished 4th in Junior Bronze. Philip McDermott won gold and Sandy Walsh silver in Senior Bronze men.
The Progamme Assistant of the year award went to Sarah-Jane Downton, and the PA award of excellence to Nicole Burt and Yvonne Chan. The CanPowerskate Program Assistant of the Year Award went to Chad Carter. The John Hall volunteer award recipient was Ruth Noel. Cathy Russell from Bank of Montreal presented BMO Spirit of Canskate Medals to Jena Dyer and Sarah Pace; and the BMO Canskater of the Year Award to Anna Carter. The Olivia Burke Memorial CanPowerskater of the Year award was presented to Ryan Maher.
2010-11
At Sectionals, the Bank of Montreal Sectional Merit Award for the most outstanding performance went to Ashley Morgan. Ashley Morgan, Julia Mercer, Nicole Chan, Dylan Short & Nicole Burt competed at Eastern Challenge.
Forty of our skaters entered into the Avalon Regional skating competition in Kelligrews. The club won the John and Barbara Predham Award for Most Improved Club and Mikayla Downey won the Mini Balisch Cup for most artistic performance.
At the Atlantic Regional Synchronized Skating Championships/ Provincial Championships, Synergy won gold and also the Cornel Trophy for best team in the competition. The Popsicles (Beginner 2), Pop Stars (elementary), and Princettes all repeated as Provincial champions winning gold; and the Lollipops (Beginner 1) and Insync (adult) both won silver.
At Skate Mount Pearl, Elin Maskova was the winner of the “Skate Mount Pearl Most Artistic Skater”.
Ashley Morgan and Dylan Short represented the province at the 2011 Canada Games in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Wendy Mercer was part of the coaching team. Both Dylan and Ashley had great performances, and both finished 7th.
The Intermediate synchro team Synergy competed at the 2011 BMO Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships in Brampton, ON. Synergy placed 14th and their total of 73.84 was less than a point below their own provincial record.
The club hosted the Provincial Championships at Jack Byrne Arena. Club skaters captured both individual awards at the event. Nicole Burt was presented with the Withers award for most outstanding performance, and Olivia Drover-Martin received the Balisch Cup for most artistic skater.

At the Section AGM Bianca Paiement received the Skate Canada StarSkate Athlete Award, Mark Scott received the Skate Canada Section Official Award and Christine Morgan was named the winner of the Skate Canada Volunteer Award of Excellence.
2011-12
Leslie Hillyard at Avalon fall school test day became only the third skater from the section to complete the Diamond Dance test
Prince of Wales skaters captured two sectional championships. Ashley Morgan won gold in Novice women, and Kaitlin Harte took the Pre Novice crown. In addition Dylan Short had two excellent skates as a single entrant in Pre Novice men, setting a provincial record with a score of 63.56. They were joined at the Skate Canada Challenge event to be held in Regina by Nicole Chan who placed 4th in PreNovice, and Julia Mercer who received a bye in Junior women.
Julia Mercer competed at the 2012 Quebec Sectional Championships and with new pairs partner Spencer Buchanan won a silver medal in Novice. They placed 6th at Challenge to advance to Nationals.

The club won the most points trophy from Avalon Regionals and Maria Downey was awarded the Mini Balisch Cup for most artistic skate
A record seven synchro teams competed at the Provincial Championships in Corner Brook. The Lollipops won a gold medal in Beginner 1 (setting a provincial record in the process), as did the Princettes in Juvenile, breaking their own provincial record. The Popstars won bronze in elementary, and the Princelles placed fourth in Pre-Novice. Synergy (Intermediate) and Symmetry (Adult 1) were single entries, and Insync won silver in Adult II.
The intermediate synchro team, Synergy, traveled to PEI, for the 2012 Atlantic Regional Synchronized Skating Championships, January 27-29 and beat teams from PEI and Nova Scotia for the Atlantic Championship.
The Club sent a strong team to the 2012 Lamontagne Skate Canada Newfoundland and Labrador Provincials held in Grand Falls, returning with 12 medals.
Synergy competed at the national synchronized skating championships for the third straight year and finished 12th.
At the ice show, Gigi Downton was the recipient of the John Hall Memorial award for volunteer efforts, Marlee Rae was presented with the programme assistant award of excellence and Breaunna Miller was named programme assistant of the year. Sophie Bennett was the Canskater of the Year, Ebyni Clarke and Takoda Druken were awarded Canskate Champions medals. Brady Mitchlemore was the CanPowerSkater of the year.
At the Section AGM 6-year old Sophie Bennett was named Skate Newfoundland and Labrador Canskater of the year. Katie Blagdon was named as Section volunteer coach of the year.
Nicole Burt who has skated with Synergy for many years was selected to join the Nexxice Senior team – Canadian champions and World silver medal winners.
2012-13
At the Rebecca Pack Memorial Friendship Skate Amber Boutcher was presented with the “Rebecca Pack Memorial Award”.
Julia Mercer and partner Wesley Killing won the gold medal in novice pairs at the Skate Canada Challenge event.
Club member Julia Mercer and partner Wesley Killing placed 8th in Junior Pairs at the Canadian Figure Skating Championships.
The club hosted the 2013 Synchronized Skating Championships. The Princettes who won the gold in juvenile and were awarded the Cornell Trophy as best team. Synergy had a good skate as single entrants and were voted the Butt Trophy (most spirited and sporting team) by the other teams in the competition. InSync won a bronze in Adult 2. Symmetry were single entries in Adult 1, but skated well with a score of 44.15, the fourth highest total in the competition.

Dayton Fifield won the bronze medal in Preliminary Women Under 10, Elin Maskova won the Pre Juvenile Under 11 event, with Anna Carter second, Jenny Biles won a bronze medal in Juvenile, Lauren Woodruff won gold in Senior Bronze, Nicole Chan won the silver medal in novice, and Kaitlin Harte the bronze in PreNovice.
Mikayla Fennelly, our only entry in the Junior Provincial Championships in Corner Brook won a silver medal in Preliminary Under 12
Club skater Nicole Burt as part of the Nexxice Senior synchro team won a silver medal at the World Senior Synchronised Skating Championships. Nicole was the first skater from our province to win a World medal in any discipline.
At Skate Atlantica Erin Maher won the gold medal in PreJuvenile U14, and Ashley Morgan took the gold in Junior women. Kaitlin Harte placed first in the PreNovice short and hung on for a bronze medal overall.
At the annual Skate Canada Newfoundland and Labrador Awards banquet. Dylan Short was named competitive skater of the year and Donna Burt received the Elizabeth Swann Memorial Award for her work in developing synchronized skating.
2013-14
At Sectionals Chloe Whitridge was presented with the Polaris Cup, awarded to the most artistic skater in the competition. Chloe placed 5th in PreJuvenile U14. Medalists included Ashley Morgan (gold, Junior), Kaitlin Harte (gold, Novice), Elin Maskova (bronze, Juvenile U11), and Abbey Moores (silver, PreJuvenile U11)
Kaitlin Harte (Novice, 32nd), Ashley Morgan (Junior, 25th) and Julia Mercer (Junior pairs with her partner Samuel Morais; 4th) represented the club at the 2014 Skate Canada Challenge, December 4-8 in Regina, Sask.
Two synchro teams competed in Winterfest, one of the largest synchro competitions outside of Nationals.
The Princelles Pre Novice team had two excellent skates and scored 19.17 and 20.74 for a combined scores of 30.31 and a final placing of 10th. The Princettes Juvenile team placed 12th with a combined score of 24.82.
Julia Mercer and her partner Samuel Morais represented the club at the 100th anniversary Canadian Championships in Ottawa, January 9-15. They competed in Junior Pairs placing 8th.
The club sent seven synchro teams to the Atlantic/ Provincial Championships at the Glacier, Mount Pearl and each came back with a medal – 5 gold, 2 silver, unprecedented in club history. A fantastic day was capped by the Princelles being awarded the Cornel Trophy for best team in the competition. Gold medal winners (and Atlantic and Provincial Champions) were the Lollipops Beginner 1 team, the Pop Stars Elementary team, the Princettes Juvenile team, the Princelles Pre-Novice team and Symmetry Adult 2 team, Synergy placed second to the Ax’eles from Nova Scotia so retained the provincial championship, and InSync Adult 3 had a great skate to finish second.

The club sent 24 skaters to the Provincial Skating Championships, and won 11 medals. Serena Piercey was awarded the Balish Cup for most artistic skater in the competition (the fourth time in the last six years that a club skater won this award). Victoria Short won gold in STAR4 U19, Jena Dyer won Silver and Lauren Quinlan Bronze in STAR4 U10, and Abby Pace Silver in STAR4 U13. Kristin Brown won the adult gold category, Dayton Fifield won bronze in Pre Juvenile Women Under 11, Elin Maskova won bronze in Juvenile Women Under 11 and Lauren Stringer Bronze in Senior Silver. Kaitlin Harte won the Novice category, Lauren Woodruff won gold in Junior Silver and Anna Carter won a bronze medal in Juvenile U14.
At the Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games. Katrina-Lynn Picco won a silver medal in STAR5 U13, Dayton Fifield silver in PreJuvenile U11, and Erin Maher bronze in Junior Silver
At the Skate Atlantica competition held in East Hants Nova Scotia, Kaitlin Harte won the Novice event, and Lauren Stringer won a bronze medal in Senior Silver.
Nicole Burt (Gold Women Interpretive Class YA; Competitive Women Free Skate Class YA) won two gold medals at the Adult National Championships in Regina.

At the Provincial Synchronized Skating Championships, The Princelles pre-novice team, Synergy (Intermediate) and Symmetry Adult II team were crowned provincial champions, Insync Adult III team and the Princettes Juvenile team won silver, and the Lollipops beginner team won bronze. The Pop Stars elementary team skated well finishing a strong fourth.

At the Provincial Championships Amber Boucher was named the winner of the Ballisch Cup for most artistic skater, and Skye Coffey and Jacob Billard won the Polaris Award for the dance couple who showed the best unison. Erin Maher won gold in Senior Silver, Skye Coffey and Jacob Billard won Preliminary dance, and Nicole Burt had a great skate in Adult Gold Interpretive as a single entrant. Abby Pace won STAR5 U13 with Brooke Coffey bronze. Chloe Whitridge placed third in Senior Bronze. Jenny Biles won double gold in Silver Skills and Silver Interpretive, Taylor Druken won bronze in Juvenile U14, and Amber Boucher won bronze in PreNovice. Nicole Burt won gold in Adult Competitive.
